Lesbian Life - Through the eyes of a Lesbian

The Media

Hi everyone.

I worked today and I just zoned out the drama of the office.  Sometimes you have to do it and you will go crazy.

In the office, it like High School all over again.  You have the popular people, the geeks, the weirdos, the ones who think they are important but not and the teacher's pets.

I don't get it.  I loved High School.  I had so much fun. In High School, I wrote for the school paper, two friends and I started a Zine which lasted a semester and I was part of several clubs.  But, it was High School.

Now, I'm not saying the proper job is working in a office, but after High School you have responsibilities as a grown adult. With this thought in mind, you grow up.

After High School and College, I knew I had to grow up, so I needed to move away from New York. Moving to Arizona, forced me to grow up and I am so happy for it. If I had to, I would do it all again.

I was forced to pay rent, get my own job instead of calling in a favor, my furniture  and make new friends.

It taught me, so much of myself and who I really am as person.  I learned about my weakness and my strengths. I learned who Aliya Leigh is.

Remember, don't take people and your situation for granted. There is reason for everything in life, you can beat it or let it suck the life out of you.   Everyone in life will help you learn a lesson in life, you just go with the flow and file it in your brain.

Like today, I spoke to one of my cousins.  His mother's husband killed her.  Before she die, she was known to be a mentally strong person because of all she had to go through.

For example, she was from Denmark, you know, white with blond hair and blue eyes.  She married into my family and had two sons who both look black.  The first marriage didn't last and she had to move to Florida with two young black boys, crazy picture, huh.  She got married a second time, but it didn't last.  She and the boys move to Denmark to be with her family.  She had to work full-time and teach her children Danish and the Danish way of life. She move back to America with two teenage boys and got married again, but this time the husband killed her.

I still think about her and all she dealt with in life, which I use as an example guiding me in my life.  She was strong so I have to be stronger. She was beautiful so I have to be more beautiful.  She was determined so I have to be more determined.  She made mistakes so I don't make her mistakes.

Life is funny.  It teaches, helps, loves, understands and make sure we have fun.

So, when you are around your friends and just people, see how you can learn a positive thing for them because life is about learning, until that last moment of life you smile because you did everything in life you wanted to do with no regrets.

God Bless.
